Franco D. Fernández, PhD profile page

Franco Fernández is a Biologist with a PhD in Biological Sciences. He works as a researcher at IPAVE-CIAP (INTA), where he leads genomic studies on bacteria and other microorganisms relevant to agriculture. He is responsible for the Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) sequencing platform at CIAP and is actively involved in genomic surveillance and diagnostics of plant health-related organisms. His work aims to improve agricultural biosecurity, enhance pathogen detection, and contribute to sustainable crop protection practices.
